Triple Grammy Award Winner Angélique Kidjo was born in Benin. Her musical roots lie between South African music and Jimi Hendrix. Y'akoto has Ghanaian roots and grew up in Hamburg. And Nneka came to Germany aged 18, the daughter of a Nigerian father and German mother. Each woman explores each of her cultures, and uses them as a source for their unique sound.
