Partly dug into a white chalk cliff along a loop of the Seine, the Château de La Roche-Guyon overlooks a unique fruit and vegetable garden. Developed by Alexander Duke of La Rochefoucauld in the early eighteenth century, this area, which combines well-known cultivation techniques with experimental ones, reflects the spirit of the Enlightenment.
