In the middle of the Sulu Sea, between the Philippines and Malaysia, there is the most remote outpost in the world. Nine men protect the Tubbataha reef, home to many species of fish and corals, from the ravages of illegal fishing. In April, they were visited by Angelique Songco, the director of the national marine park, who came to inspect their work and lift morale.
