Keith Haring’s influence is everywhere in pop culture and his paintings have become modern icons. One of the most famous personalities of the 1980s Haring’s reputation as a painter, graffiti artist and designer was built in the midst of a vibrant street culture in New York. When he fell victim to AIDS on 16 February 1990, aged just 31, his art had already left its mark on America and the world.
